Meet the Founder
Suhey "Sue" Fisher
Army combat veteran, Puerto Rican island girl, and lifelong waterwoman, Suhey discovered the healing power of the water early. Certified as a scuba diver at 13 and later earning extensive credentials as a Master Scuba Diver and Dive Master, she learned that water isn't just a place to explore—it's a sanctuary for the soul.
After serving in the U.S. Army and navigating the invisible wounds that followed, Suhey returned to the water to rebuild her life. Through sailing, diving, energy work, and deep inner healing, she found her Inner North—a renewed connection to peace, faith, and purpose.
Today, Suhey is a Yoga Teacher, REIKI Master, auricular therapy, emotional-intelligence facilitator, and student of neuroplasticity and meditation. She holds a graduate diploma from Western Michigan University in Holistic Life Coach and Holism and Contemplative Health Care. She uses these modalities to help veterans regulate their nervous systems, rewire emotional patterns, and discover Post-Traumatic Stress Growth (PTSG).
Sailor's Manifesto was born from her mission to make water-based healing accessible to veterans. Through Great Lakes experiences in West Michigan, somatic practices, and emotional-intelligence training, Suhey guides others to transform their inner world—just as she transformed her own.
"We can't change what happened, but we can rise into who we're meant to become."

Mission Statement
Sailor's Manifesto empowers veterans to heal, connect, and thrive through the transformative power of water, sailing, and holistic wellness. We provide adaptive sailing experiences, mindfulness training, resilience workshops, and innovative healing practices—such as acupressure—to support self-regulation of the nervous system, foster community, and prevent suicide. By combining the freedom of the open water with skills for inner strength, we create safe spaces where servicemen and women can navigate hardship and rediscover hope.
Vision Statement
We envision a world where every veteran has access to healing, purpose, and connection. Through the synergy of sailing, community, and holistic practices, Sailor's Manifesto strives to be a leading anchor of resilience—helping veterans not only survive but flourish. Our long-term vision includes expanding adaptive sailing programs, retreats, and charter opportunities, cultivating peer support networks, and creating lasting pathways for veterans to embrace wellness, camaraderie, and a renewed sense of life's possibilities.

Stories of Transformation
Real veterans sharing their journey from PTSD to PTSG
"Sailing with Sue changed my life. I finally found a way to put down the emotional baggage and live in the present. The combination of being on the water and her holistic approach to healing helped me more than years of traditional therapy."

James R.
Army Veteran
"As a woman veteran, finding safe spaces for healing has been challenging. Sue's women's retreat gave me not just healing, but a community. The sailing, yoga, and reiki combined created something truly transformative."

Maria S.
Navy Veteran
"I never thought I'd be able to afford sailing, let alone use it as a tool for healing. Sue's mission to make this accessible to veterans like me is incredible. The 4-hour charter was just the beginning of my journey to PTSG."
